Yoga for Menopause: 4 Workshop Series

  • Soul Yoga 2807 West Silver Lake Road Fenton, MI, 48430 United States (map)

In traditional Chinese medicine, Menopause is called Second Spring, a chance for renewal and growth.

Join Pam Burgess for a transformative Yoga for Menopause workshop, specifically designed to support women through all stages of menopause. This 4-class series will help you navigate the common side effects and health concerns associated with menopause, using the healing power of yoga to provide relief and promote overall well-being.

Throughout this enriching series, participants will engage in supportive opening circles.  We’ll dive into a different menopause topic each session and have a journal prompt with an opportunity to share your thoughts/feelings in this supportive space. The circle will be followed by a specially tailored yoga practice that addresses the unique challenges of each stage of menopause, including perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause.

Enrollment works best on a computer.

September 14, 1-3:15 PM: Stages of Menopause and Symptoms

We begin each session with a women’s circle and discussion. We’ll dive right into the stages and symptoms of menopause and everyone will have the opportunity to share a little information about themselves and where they’re at on their journey. The circle will be followed by an energizing yoga practice with tools to relieve some of the most common symptoms.

October 12, 1-3:15 PM: Common Health Concerns During Peri and Post Menopause

In session 2, we’ll focus on how the stages of menopause can affect the bones, brain health, and the pelvic floor. We’ll follow the circle with a yoga practice to support these areas and strengthen these areas. We’ll also learn Kirtan Kriya meditation, which can support brain health when practiced consistently.

November 16, 1-3:15 PM: Fascia in Menopause

Studies show that women suffer from myofascial pain to a greater extent than men. We’ll explore how hormone changes play a role in fascial changes. There will also be discussion about nutritional support to help reduce inflammation. We’ll follow with a yin/restorative practice, ending with a yoga nidra to support sleep.

December 14, 1-3:15 PM: A Journey Supported

In our final session, we’ll focus on mood, finding pleasure, and supporting each other through these different seasons of our lives. We’ll follow with a yoga practice and meditation focused on pleasure and interoception.

This workshop is perfect for women at any stage of menopause who are interested in using yoga as a method to help manage their symptoms and enhance their overall health.
